Therapist Profile:

Marissa Robinson, LMHC

SHE/HER

Clinical Director

Marissa is a highly specialized clinician who understands that in the fast-paced, often overwhelming environment of New York City, every individual deserves a safe space to recharge, reconnect, and refuel. With a deep commitment to the emotional well-being of her clients, she uses her expertise to help individuals explore and tap into their emotional depth, guiding them toward healing and self-empowerment to realize their fullest potential. Marissa recognizes that even those who are dedicated to personal growth may face overwhelming emotions—panic, insecurity, anxiety, and unresolved relational wounds—that disrupt their peace and hinder their progress to being their most authentic self. By the end of their work together, clients leave feeling authentic, emotionally restored, clear, intentional and purposeful.

As a clinical director with advanced training in emotion focused therapies, Marissa is specialized in helping clients uncover and process the underlying emotional patterns that drive their behaviors, thoughts, and relationships. She utilizes a strengths-based, relational approach to address a wide range of challenges, including life and career transitions, anxiety, intimacy and sexuality concerns, as well as issues of self-worth, emotional regulation, and relational healing. Her work is particularly focused on building a compassionate relationship with oneself and others, fostering emotional resilience, and supporting clients in creating lasting change.

  • Marissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Family Science, with a minor in Human Development, from the University of Maryland, College Park. She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, where she graduated with honors. Throughout her studies, Marissa completed extensive coursework, training, and testing to achieve licensure in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, demonstrating a strong commitment to her professional development.
